How To Wean Off Statins Slowly Without Any Side Effects?
Hi , i have been on 10mg Ramipril plus 81 mg Aspirin and 10 mg Ezetimibe and 5mg Rosuvastatin. I also take 300 mg inno-q-nol (to try and overcome the side effects of the statins) This is the current meds after a heart attack about 15 months ago. Recently started having problems with my eyesight. almost as if the lights have been dimmed quite a bit as well as losing part vision in one eye at times. Just a little concerned this may be anotherv of the meds side effects. Any thoughts on this. Much thanks.
Hi ... Why not go for an ophthalmologist for a complete eye check up rather than seeing it as a side effect of drugs. Rosuvastatin is unlikely to have caused problems in the vision. Because statins prevent secondary cardiovascular events, I wouldn't recommend to stop it. All the other drugs you have mentioned is u likely to have caused the vision problems. I would suggest an ophthalmologist consultation along with screening for Diabetes. Screening for diabetes as high sugars can effect eyes and we need to rule out diabetes. Hope the above information helps you in taking an informed decision. Thanks a lot.
